Ask Governor Quinn to Sign the Payday Loan BillHB537, the Payday Loan and Consumer Installment Loan Reform Act, passed both chambers of the General Assembly by overwhelming majorities and now goes to the Governor for final approval. This bill includes a number of important consumer protections and ends 700 percent APR payday loans. You can read the letter-to-the-editor by Protestants for the Common Good to learn more about these reforms. Take a few moments to call Governor Quinn (217–782–6830 in Springfield or 312–814–2121 in Chicago) and give him this message: “I am calling to ask you to sign HB537 into law so that its strong consumer protections can become effective as soon as possible. Thank you.” |
