Faith's Pastor Gabi Aelabouni was one of ten ELCA members chosen to travel to Senegal in Africa with the ELCA Interunit Task Force for the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence. The group was in Africa in early February for ten days of immersion in Christian-Muslim dialogue and engagement. The groups blog from the trip is still available by clicking here.
Senegal was chosen as a destination because it provides an ideal setting for modeling how Christians and Muslims can live and work together. This teams work in Christian-Muslim engagement will be a part of the ELCA's efforts to build foundations for peace and a culture of nonviolence in our congregations and the communities they serve.
Faith is very proud and honored to have Pastor Gabi selected to participate in such an important event. Please check back in the future for Pastor Gabi's reflections on the trip and the critical work the group is doing. For more information on the Decade for Nonviolence, click here.
